Fees and charges

Not all services at the practice are available under the NHS. Where patients request non-NHS items or services then a private fee may be payable. The list below is for guidance only and assumes that the private work doesn’t exceed the average time spent for these services. Costs may change without notice.

Medical Examinations and report – £120
(Includes but not limited to) HGV, PCV, Taxi, Pilot, emlpoyment medicals and council reports

Private report prepared from medical records – £89.50
(Reports are prepared without an examination on a pro forma – usual time taken to complete such reports is approximately 20 minutes)

Detailed report without examination – £133
(With detailed opinion and statement on condition of patient – usual time taken to complete such reports is approximately 30 minutes)

Detailed report with examination – £190
(Usual time taken to complete such reports is apptoximately 1 hour)

Straightforward certificate of fact – £20

(GPs are not required to issue a fit note before 7 days as self certification can be used before this. In some circumstances employers may insist on a private sick note)

Passport countersignature – No longer done by the practice

(From the gov.com website “The person countersigning your passport cannot be a doctor, unless they state that they know you well (eg good friend)”)

Housing letters – No longer done by the practice
(The LMC (local medical committee) have advised that GPs do not underatake private housing reports due to the vast number of requests from private companies. Your GP may offer you a “summary sheet” at no charge but the housing companies should contact the GPs directly if they require formal medical information. Please bear in mind GPs require a patinents consent before any such information can be released.
